Pìcciuli Privacy Policy
Last updated: 1 November 2026
Pìcciuli is a personal finance app for iPhone, iPad, Mac and Android. Your privacy is a priority: this page explains which data is processed, where, and by whom.
Data collected
Pìcciuli has no servers. Your financial data (accounts, transactions, categories, budgets, scenarios) is stored on your device. The developer does not receive it and cannot access it. The app contains no advertising or tracking tools and does not require you to create an account.
Syncing between devices (optional)
You can choose between two modes, both of which can be turned off:
- iCloud (Apple devices only, from iOS 17): data travels through Apple's CloudKit and stays in the private database of your iCloud account.
- File: data is saved in a Pìcciuli file in a cloud service of your choice (for example iCloud Drive, Google Drive, OneDrive or MEGA), in your own account. This is the mode that also lets you sync Android devices. The file is subject to the terms of the cloud service you choose.
In both cases the developer has no access to your data.
Data encryption
The data file, backups and the files you save or send (copies of your data, cloud sync files, shared transactions) are encrypted on the device with AES-256. They can only be opened with Pìcciuli: anyone who obtains a copy of one of these files cannot read its contents with other software. Encryption takes place entirely on your device; the developer neither holds nor receives your data.
Receipts and photos
When you scan a receipt or choose a photo of one, the text is read on your device. Images are not sent to the developer or to third parties.
Sending transactions and files
If you choose to send a transaction or save a copy of your data, the file is transmitted only to the recipients and through the means you choose (for example Messages, email or a cloud service).
Artificial intelligence features (optional)
The AI analysis features are off until you set them up.
- Apple Intelligence: on compatible devices the analysis runs on the device.
- Claude (Anthropic) or OpenAI: if you enter your own key, the app sends summaries of your data (for example totals by category and period) and the messages you write in the chat directly from your device to the chosen provider, only to generate the requested answer. Your full archive is never sent. This data is processed by the provider under its own terms and privacy policy; the developer of Pìcciuli does not receive it.
Calendar sync
If you turn on sync with the system Calendar, the app creates events in the calendar you choose. This feature requires your explicit permission through the system settings.
Data shared with third parties
Pìcciuli does not sell or share your data with third parties for advertising or marketing purposes. Data reaches external services only if you turn on one of the features described above: Apple iCloud, the cloud service you choose for file sync, or the AI provider whose key you enter.
Your rights
Since your data stays on your device and in the services you choose, you are in full control of it: you can export it, delete it, turn off sync, or delete the app to remove it from the device. For data stored in iCloud, in a cloud service or with an AI provider, the tools offered by those services also apply.
